Greenhills finds, and 1-day-old-chicken

Image
Had yet another wonderful day today, praise God. I went to Greenhills with Rap and his family, and I went home with these: (click to enlarge) An advanced birthday card from Karina, Rap's sister. She got me one on my last birthday, too! AWW! <3 Two Sandman s from Rap, a loose floral shirt, a Hunger Games tumbler I stumbled upon by accident (and less than P300, too!) and a pack of Karate Belts rainbow bacon strips for my family. The shirt above looks like this. And wow I've been taking pictures of clothes a lot, recently. A weird thing about me is that I like to go to malls a lot, but I never really buy any clothes for myself. I just enjoy looking at all the pretty things there are to look at. But this afternoon, I felt a little pressured to find something nice for myself, otherwise the trip to Greenhills would've been put to waste. So I got this shirt. And it looks nice, I think. Rap and I also ate at the V-Mall food court. There was a stall there that sol

Tonight was the the night of my block's usual sem-ender "party" at Albert's house. Since me, Pat, and Bel (and Albert himself) are this month's birthday celebrants, we brought food. A lot of it. There were six boxes of pizza and a lot of KFC chicken. After we ate, I just sat around, absentmindedly watching a Dr. Who episode with Andy. Then for some reason the lights went out, and Rap came through the door carrying a cake with a single lit candle. It took me a while to process this, and when I was finally able to wrap my mind around what was happening, my heart felt like it was soaring. Rap told me to make a wish and blow the candle. As I did, everyone there sang happy birthday, and I wanted to cry. Cry like I did on  my previous birthday surprise . But to my relief, this time around I managed to keep myself from breaking down into a teary mess as I let out a shaky "Thank you" to Rap and to everyone. This is one reason why I love summer classes - your

a very lazily-written blog

30,000+ VIEWS!!! I'm guessing that about half of that came from my parents, and the other half is from search results for "college girl with no life outside the Internet and is pausing an episode of Game of Thrones right now to update her blog." Is this good? 30k? Is that more or less than what an average blogger gets, considering this site has been up for two years already? That's not important, I guess. So let me just go ahead and celebrate this trivial little victory with a small pat on the back. [pat on the back] Done! Now on to some less trivial things. I went to Cravings Katipunan for an unlimited breakfast with AC and Cheryl. Yay! I haven't talked to them in a while because of our differing schedules. Not being blockmates anymore suuuucks. Anyway I had beef tapa, while Cheryl had the longganisa and AC had pancakes. I enjoyed my food, and there was an endless supply of coffee to go with it. And unlimited Honey Stars, too. Classy. I brought my

Yesterday I woke up feeling rather crafty. So instead of my new usual breakfast of milk and cereal, I toasted some bread and put butter, jam, and bananas on it. And if you're thinking, "WTH that sounds lame" then oh my friend you are so wrong. Because it was the ultimate best sandwich that my taste buds have ever had the pleasure of tasting.  Just kidding, it was just another sandwich. The sad thing is this is the most effort I've ever put into making breakfast. Later that day I got to work on that Biochemistry game project I mentioned previously. I came up with a design  for the back of our playing cards: I find the biomolecules floating around in the back kind of cheezy,  but I'm too lazy to think of a better way to incorporate those darn molecules into this design.  Rap said it looks like old-school bubblegum packaging. . . . Today I went to a Biotechnology conference in school. In a nutshell, the purpose of the conference was to bring in

Free Comic Book Day, and Biochem

This weekend marks the last week of classes. I had two exams, one for Biochem and one for Environmental Sciences. I did pretty bad on the Biochem test (well I guess a B isn't so bad, BUT I REALLY WANTED AN A!!!) and as for the ES test, I'll know my scores on Monday. Ugh. Monday. Such a crucial day. It will decide my fate for the next three days, whether I'll be in Batangas with my block, or in school with my ES book. (Speaking of the ES book, why on Earth did the ES department print it double-spaced? Think of all the trees they could've saved with 1.5 spacing. Maybe they were doing it to be ironic.) Anyway. Summer classes are coming to a close, and most of the Health Sci juniors have been spending lots of time creating a Biochem board game. Yeah, you heard me right. For our Biochem project, we're required to make a board or card game involving Biochemistry principles. The project is equivalent to one long test, so you can imagine how seriously we're taking

an ordinary day

(Okay fine. Since everyone's been updating their blogs I guess I should as well, even if I don't have anything to write about. Hello, peer pressure!) I woke up at 7 today in a rush to not be late for jogging at the Covered Courts. Between me and my faithful partner-in-fitness Rap, I'm usually the one who comes in late, but today it seemed like I had arrived at Ateneo first. I used that time to buy myself some two pieces of polvoron. It was a sorry excuse for a breakfast, but it would suffice. One hurriedly-consumed polvoron later and I found myself somewhere near the Jesuit residences, jogging to Poison's Talk Dirty to Me . I noticed someone on my right whom I thought I knew. Lo and behold, I did know him; he was Sir TJ, the old moderator of my high school paper! I waved hi and greeted him happy birthday in advance. Fast forward some thirty minutes. We were finally able to do three laps around our track, but I was too exhausted to feel any sense of accomplishment

Yesterday my mom and the rest of the Co Family came to Manila as a stopover before going to China today. So naturally, I spent most of yesterday afternoon shopping with them. We went to Eastwood and checked out the bazaar. My mom noticed how "old-looking" clothes are the trend these days. Like the stuff that was fashionable before are the same things that are fashionable today. After checking out the clothes (and not buying any), we wandered into the mall and ate food. When we got back to my Twa-E's house for dinner, my mom bestowed onto me some gifts she brought from home. YAY!!! I got a jar of mangosteen preserves, which I originally bought as a souvenir for Rap and his family from my summer trip to Dapitan  a month ago. I wasn't able to bring the preserves to my plane ride coming to Manila, because for some reason, airline authorities do not allow glass jars of preserved fruit on airplanes. (And apparently, heavy wooden hitting sticks are less of a security

I wish I had my old phone back. Yes, the one I stupidly left in a taxi in my rush to catch my flight home last December.  I hate that December. Now I'm using the phone I had back in first year high school, and it can't upload things to computers. Hence the decline in my posting of pictures from my daily life. (I do have my DSLR birthday camera, but I don't like bringing it around everyday. Who does that [apart from people whose job it is to do that]?) Anyway. Yesterday I had a Biochem exam, which I did okay at. I skipped my Environmental Sciences class to cram for that test too, and I'd like to think it paid off a little. There was a logic part of the test where you had to figure out the right order of amino acids based on a bunch of clues. I really enjoyed that part, actually. I felt like Nancy Drew, racing against the clock to figure it out. :)) After that... had a Game of Thrones marathon and some mushy, caramely bananas with ice cream slept like a b

Today is now my sixth day of living in my new place. Everything's good, but I have to say that as much as I was in love with the idea of living here before, I wasn't too thrilled on my first night in the condo. In fact, I spent the entireity of that day trying to keep my emotions in check, because I was overwhelmed by how much cleaning up my roommate Jean and I had to do really tired from hauling stuff to and from the dorm excited, because CONDO! I guess my being on-edge the whole day translated into me constantly tossing and turning in bed that night. I got so little sleep that I had to cancel jogging time in the morning. But I slept well the night after, as I've been sleeping well for every night now.  Yeah I guess I sometimes miss my old dorm. I miss being able to plop down on a bed (because I now sleep on a pull-out). I miss being able to walk to Rustan's like I was walking to my kitchen. And I miss my old roommate Steph.  Oh, speaking of Steph, r

Sometimes I can get really excited over the littlest things, such as petting a puppy, deciding to have yogurt for dessert, or going for a walk outside. BUT this is not one of those times, for I am excited not for any of those silly reasons. I am excited for this one BIG reason: TOMORROW IS MAY 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And that's not even the real reason!!! It's just an umbrella reason!!! But I emphasized it anyway!!!  *breathes*  Anyway, tomorrow is May 1, and that means: No classes (which isn't a big deal to me, since my class schedule is so light, it's like I do practically nothing all day) SUMMER CLASSES ARE HALFWAY OVER!  My birthday is nigh! (Must do eighteen-year-old things while I still can!) GAME OF THRONES!!! (Just kidding, I don't watch u_u) I'M HAVING YOGURT FOR DESSERT! (Just kidding I'm not  :'(  ) Annnnnnd, reason of all reasons:     6. I'M MOVING INTO THE CONDO!  I've been mo
