Do you know how it feels when you're running a marathon, and you realize that you're almost at the finish line? Do you know what it's like to push yourself to run harder and faster - ignoring the frantic beating of your heart and the tiredness of your lungs - because you know that the end is only a few more breaths away?         I've never run a marathon, so I wouldn't know! But right now, there are less than three weeks before the final exams. Figuratevely speaking, I can feel this run coming to a finish.        Before the semester ends, I should probably post all the pictures of things I'd been meaning to blog about. I know I've hardly been blogging these past few months, and that I usually just post once every four weeks (a stark contrast to my 2010 record of about 20+ posts per month). To make up for that, here's everything you missed. July A mini-museum was put up in the Ateneo de Manila Grade School in honor of Rizal's 150th bir

Rarely do I ever have a Saturday morning with nothing to do. Usually I have Epidemiology class with the rest of my batchmates. Today was an exception; Doc Wong gave us the day off to work on our thesis proposals. I think it was also his way of sparing us from the infamous ACET traffic jam. Okay it doesn't look too bad here. So I decided to go to school to return some overdue library books. (Okay, the real reason I went to school was to see the ACET takers. I thought it would be fun witnessing them go through the whole range of emotions as the day progressed - fear, relief, happiness, despair...)        Anyway, at the library, I chanced upon my two friends AC and Mike (who has been very supportive of me and my blog. Thanks Mike!!!). They had also ran into each other by accident and were just on their way to get lun

Rhythm in Blue

I think I should start this post by backtracking to about a month ago, to the exact moment when Rap revealed that he was joining a certain dance contest called Rhythm in Blue. He said it rather nonchalantly. "I joined RIB." I reacted exclamatorily. "YOU DID WHAT!?!?!?! "       To explain my reaction, I must step back and tell you a little about RIB. It's a pretty huge hip hop dance contest organized by the Company of Ateneo Dancers, or CADS. About twenty Ateneo orgs compete in it every year. They spend weeks practicing their routine, and they hire professional choreographers and all. Only ten teams make it to the finals. The place where they hold the finals (Irwin Theater, usually)  is jam-packed with people. It's not just an Ateneo event, people from other schools come to watch too. And celebrities usually stop by. It is THE dance competition of the cench ("cench" = short for "century." I just had to). This year, the theme
