Yay! Things are finally happening in my life again. Monday  For my PE (swimming) we had a diagnostic test to see how many strokes we could swim. The diagnosis was done individually, so most of the period was spent waiting for my turn with the teacher. It was pretty awkward in the beginning, since it was the first meeting in which we would actually get to swim (the previous one was spent on lectures). It was awkward because there were only ten of us in class, all female, but you could tell that we were all shy about our bathing suits and such. When we got into the pool, the water was FREEZING. It probably would have been refreshing if it were a hot summer day, but it was in the middle of November! My classmates and I spent a really long time just huddled together in one corner of the huuuuge pool, shivering and shy. Eventually as more and more people got called on for the diagnostic swim, we broke out of the huddle and got around to practicing our strokes. Here I realized how

I don't have anything interesting to write about today so here's a gif that I made for LFC, and for the love of Big Fish . You know, sometimes, so little happens in my life that I wonder if it's even my life I'm living in, or someone else's. Someone more exciting, more entertaining, and with more depth than me. I wonder whether I really am the main character of The Aimee Show. For all I know, I am just another extra, milling around in the background as the real main character ventures off into a world full of evil twins, enchanted mirrors, muzzle flares, spacecrafts, good-looking people, desert islands, Pegasi, triple-crossers, expensive wine, and cliffhangers. Six seasons and a movie. Don't tell me I've been watching too much TV. (Because the TV is downstairs in the dorm lobby, and I don't like going there because I'm too lazy to change out of my pajamas, and I don't want to go there in my jammies because all the other girls are wearing som

NSTP re-orientation at eight in the morning with the entire Health Sci batch! :) And Lafi! n_n Went around the photocopying places in Ateneo to get readings for stuff. GRAHHH photocopying is so frustrating, and I'm not even the one doing the actual copying.  Lunch with Jeth, Jules, and Cheryl in the caf. Jules actually opened up a little of himself to us today.  Checked out a unit in Berkeley. It had a really amazing view! But it was pretty darn tiny. And hot.  That's Katipunan on the left. You can see part of Ateneo. (Click to enlarge!) Bought a Cell Biology book for Bio class. P2,100 at Mind Movers. Colored glossy paper. Mmmmmm. I also heard this book will come in handy during NMAT season. Went back to Ateneo to do more errands. Mostly photocopy-related stuff again. Grr.  Went to Moonleaf and sat across the Freedom Board that was full of lame, "Faye wuz here 11-11-11 =))" kinds of notes. Why do people use Internet smileys on paper, anyway? I drew a sho

This morning was rather... uneventful. My first (and only) class of the day was at 1:30, so I was free to spend the morning tagging along with Rap as he went about fussing over his ID picture.     We went to the libe and bumped into Jules. Serendipity! The three of us then had lunch at JSEC. (Tip: Get the Dynasty Meal from the Great Stall of China! You won't find a better deal in Ateneo!) There we ran into Chris, our ex-InTACT student facilitator, and we talked about Chinese medicine, magnets, and network marketing.     At 1:30, I had Statistics with my block. It's in an aircon classroom with computers for everyone! n_n It's a fun class. Our teacher is Ma'am Leslie Lopez, and she's cutesy and has the ability to read people's minds.     Our class ended at 3:00, and after that I had nothing to do. As all of my blockmates scurried off to their respective classes (some Environmental Science, some Filipino), I figured I'd make good use of my time running

Arrived early for P.E. class this morning with just the best surprise ever waiting for me at Manang's. Thank you Tita Tet! :D  At 10:00 I went down to the swimming pool behind the covered courts. It's a very very lovely location for a pool, tucked away where the school becomes a forest. There were only nine of us in my class. Amazing. The last time I was in a class that tiny was for Chinese in grade school! Anyway, as with most first meetings, nothing happened in this one. So we got dismissed early, and I returned to Manang's to enjoy some Fancy Chocolate. <3 History class came at 12:30, and seeing all of my block in a class that wasn't a science subject seemed unnatural. I felt a little disheartened too, because I didn't particularly enjoy the last non-science subject I had with my block: Sociology and Anthropology. UGH. (Recitation counted as a really big part of our grade, and what happened was people were getting points for pointless questions. Or ma

I did some mental counting in my head and I decided that if each semester I've spent in Ateneo were a whole TV series season, then this one will have been my fifth, and today will have counted as Episode 1. But I should probably cut back on the TV series analogies. My life isn't nearly as interesting as Christine Campbell's . (That may or may not be a good thing. I don't know.)       Woke up bright and early and ate a breakfast consisting entirely of two Presto peanut butter cookies. I feel so healthy right now! NOT. But hey, at least I walked to my classroom! After taking a trike to JSEC. u_u          First class of the day was at 7:30, Cell Mol, which is short for Cellular and Molecular Biology. Our teacher seemed nice. She let us off "early" (i.e. at 10:30 instead of 11:30). After that I went with AC, Rap, Jules, and Deo to do the usual start-of-the-season errands... ID validation and the like.       Ho hum. Lunch was at Cervini Cafeteria, since

Before I start talking about... uh, whatever it is I was planning to talk about, here are some pictures that I should've blogged about sooner: "IT IS DANGEROUS TO GO ALONE! TAKE ONE OF THESE!" This was taped to the huge periodic table of elements outside a classroom in Schmitt in Ateneo. At first I thought it was a Zelda reference, but after looking it up just now I'm not so sure about that. It could be a World of Warcraft thing, or a Dungeons and Dragons thing. Whatever. It's nerdy and adorable either way. What with all the science majors hanging out here, I guess things like take-away paper swords and W.O.W/D&D references are not a rare occurrence. Speaking of nerdy things... Andy cranking it up.  One day for Organic Chemistry, our teacher, Sir Guidote, brought this interesting device. It had a crank on one side and a flat base, and it looked to me like a sealed-up rectangular well. He mixed two solutions in a beaker (I looked it up, and apparently
