Avengers

Image
Okay, this will be a really short and boring post, because I just wanna get all these thoughts out of my head as quickly as I can without giving any thought to how good my writing is. Tonight, Karla generously treated Block XX to some much-needed bonding time, in celebration of her birthday! We finally got to see Avengers!!! I'm happy to report that it did not disappoint. Ever since the movie hit cinemas this Wednesday, people have been talking about it nonstop. Especially on Facebook, where you can see everyone posting something to the effect of "AVENGERS OMG HNNNNG." I am not joking. Three of my friends said exactly that.  The last time I've ever seen a movie that *titillated* the Internet (and the real world) like that is, I think, when the last Harry Potter came out. Personally I didn't see it as that much of a big deal, since my love for Harry has, sadly, waned in the gaps between movie releases. But it meant truckloads to everyone, apparently.

I really don't have anything interesting to write about, seeing as today was a relatively trivial day... Or was it? This morning I went jogging around campus with my fitness buddy,  Rap . We went into the foresty parts behind the Covered Courts. If you haven't been on a walk there yet, you absolutely should, because the lesser-visited parts of Ateneo are really beautiful. Had I only a camera with me I would've posted pictures here for you all to see. But I guess you guys will just have to discover these places yourselves. After jogging, I had Environmental Sciences, where we talked about the process of selecting a mate. It was a really interesting class. Dr. Espiritu said that when boys tell you that the most attractive thing about you is  your "values" or "intelligence", they're lying. It's all hips and boobies for them. The bottomline is, MEN SUCK! Then there was Biochem, which was also a really interesting class, where we reviewed s

dizzy days

Lately I've been in a state of dizziness, and I say this in a strictly literal sense. I opened my eyes one morning to find my bedroom spinning wildly. Then I wobbled my way over to school, where my Environmental Sciences test paper wouldn't stand still. The doctor at the AdMU clinic says it's an allergy-related thing. If it were, then that would suck a lot, because I don't know what I'm allergic to. I got a second opinion from the doctor at Loyola Grand Villas (thanks to the Abacan family), and she said it might have something to do with skipping meals, or the heat, or my low blood pressure. She also said it had nothing to do with my allergies. Now I don't know who to believe. But whatever the cause of my vertigo is, I'm still feeling it right now, which makes today the third in a series of dizzy days. Anyway, I'm almost halfway done with summer classes, and May couldn't come sooner. The April heat is killing me, and I'm extremely jealous of

having no internet in the room while it's summer

Okay, I have been blogging really erratically this year. But can you blame me, really? When I don't have school, I'm living my regular, civilian life - and nothing interesting ever happens then. Except me getting a condo. That's pretty interesting, right? We're still looking for one more roommate, btw. :D heeheehee (see: this similarly desperate and shameless post ) Anyway, I guess I have some summer blogging to catch up on. For Holy Week, my family went to Dapitan! Woohoo! Okay, you got us. My family never actually does holy things on Holy Week. While everyone else is out there reflecting and repenting, the Capinpuyans go a-splorin'. And how could you expect us to do anything else? Holy Week means no work for the parents, which means maximum family time. Why waste those precious moments sweating in a stuffy old church? I'm kidding, of course (sort of). Anyway, now for the obligatory summer pictures, edited by my mom! How awesome is that. River cr

summer in CDO

It's summer, and tons of bikini pictures from my friends' vacations have been popping up on my Facebook news feed. I remember when I was a freshman (wow that was two years ago) and my new friends and I somehow got to talking about swimwear. I said, "Why do girls let people see themselves in bikinis? They provide about as much coverage as underwear." "Why, what do you wear to the beach?" they asked me. "A one-piece," I said.  They looked at me like O___O (Let it be known henceforth that these friends were all guys.) And then they explained to me that bikinis were sort of the standard in Manila. Everyone wore one. Everyone, even the people I had thought were conservative dressers.          This was news to me because I had previously thought that bikinis were for, well, sluts . I mean, letting people see you in your bikini is like letting them see you in your underwear! I'm pretty sure I don't want to give random beach people t
