Thank you, ASMPH

Right now, the inside of my head feels all fuzzy and my eyes are impossibly puffy. It's because I've been crying and crying and crying these past few hours, and the reason for that is that around 8 PM tonight, as I was about to dig into a salad, I got a call from Mr. Peabody. Mr. Peabody works for the financial aid committee of the Ateneo School of Medicine and Public Health, and when I saw his name flashing on the screen of my phone as it rang, I was not expecting good news. I knew the scholarship results were supposed to come out tomorrow, so the fact that he was already calling me at this hour probably meant something bad. It probably meant that I didn't make it, and that he wanted to break the news to me gently, before the list came out and before the scholars started celebrating. Our conversation went like this: Hello Aimee? Hello? Yes, Sir. Hi. Hello. So we've made a decision already.  Yes sir? (Internal dialogue: HOLY CRAP THIS IS IT. LET ME DOWN EASY. D...

      Lesson learned: drinking coffee the night before a 7:30 exam = bad idea. I can't sleep na hinuon. Yeah. Little bits of Bisaya have been finding their way into my conversations lately. "It's like this man gud." Maybe it's because I've been thinking so much in Bisaya ever since I wrote my paper about language last Saturday.       You heard me. I actually did some work over the weekend, because I knew I wouldn't have time to write during finals week. Hooray for productivity, right? :)       WRONG. The deadline got moved to AFTER the finals. :| Ohhhhh as flies to wanton boys we are to the Gods of Deadline!      Right. Anyway. Chem exam is later, 7:30 AM. That's six hours from now, but the caffeine in my system refuses to let me rest. So here I am, online. (MY BRAIN IS FULLY SATURATED I CAN'T LEARN ANY MORE CHEMISTRY)     . . .      I can't believe I'm going home this week...

To-Do for 2011

Oh, 2010. You went by so quickly. You filled up so many diary pages. So many things happened. And so many people came into my life. And I shall miss you. Without further ado, here is my to-do list for 2011: Things to do: Asian poses with Larz! (hello, summer of 2010) Check out the block of cement near Shell, Katipunan where a crazy guy writes social commentaries every day FINALLY SIGN MYSELF UP FOR PAWS (Note: Remember to set alarm for orientation day this time. :|) Show some people my novel. Help out some of the graduating seniors pick out a college and a course Make thirty MS Paint comic strips, all featuring different people (and actual conversations I had with them!) Head an LFC project! \m/ Play in a band! In front of people! Whilst sounding good! Get an A in my final grade! Get that first aid and CPR license PMSA promised us if we'd join the first aid training! Make a (good) movie Learn to cook something (this has been a to-do since 2007) Try: Smallows,...
