nearing freedom

THE END IS SO NEAR. VACATION IS FIVE DAYS AWAY. And instead of devoting my last breaths as a Sophomore to mind-numbing, mega intense studying, here I am in an uncomfortable sitting position in my swelteringly hot dorm lobby, absorbing Wi-fi from the restaurant next door. I don't know why I do this to myself.  Anyway, my life has been a flurry of activity in the past few weeks, starting with my roommate Jean and I finally closing the deal on this new condo unit we'll be living in, starting May.  This is an old ad. We've found our two roommates already! (And I just noticed the typo.) I'm pretty excited. I can't wait to start moving in my stuff. I'll finally be able to eat at an actual table!  Oh yeah, speaking of housing matters, a good number of people have been asking me about dorm recommendations. Sadly I have only ever lived in Dormitoryana, which means I cannot give a fair review about other places. So if you still want to know what it's like here, ...

updating just for the sake of updating

What am I doing still up at 1:38 AM on a Sunday night? Watching videos of chinchillas on YouTube, that's what. Chinchillas rock. I've got a lot of things to write about so I definitely do not have a shortage of stories to tell right now. However, I am running quite low on brain capacity, so I think it would be wisest to tell you these stories another time (maybe later on, before I study for Chemistry, because whenever I have better things to do than blogging, I blog). Sooooooo in the meantime here is an animated GIF I made of... er, [some Asian dude] cosplaying as Samuel L. Jackson from Pulp Fiction. Supposedly a wind is blowing into his tux but I don't know why his hair isn't moving, or his pants, for that matter. He is definitely saying "I love Richie," and not some line that Sammy J is so famous for saying. Night!

unproductivity

I've got a ton of things to work on tonight, but thanks to my short attention span and my inability to commit myself to doing one task at a time, I shall blog! Hooray for unproductivity!        Just a quick narration of the day's events (because I can practically hear my partner for my Filipino paper drumming his fingers on his table in impatience). I stayed up late working on a comic strip for my friends Alessi, Jani, and Arthur. It's about two superheroes named Soaperman and Sipilyo Ranger, and here's what a bit of the comic strip looks like:        I do hope I can finish it in time, what with all my procrastination and blogging.         Since the first class of the day was at 1:30, I also spent the whole morning working on the comic strip. Lunch was, again, siomai (which, thanks to aforementioned Fil partner, I now know is made from "pig and old pig").       ...

If I had to pick a book genre I'd have to stick to writing for the rest of my life, I'd definitely pick children's literature over anything else, because in a kid's book, anything can happen. Dogs can talk, trees have faces, and Harry Potter is real.  That drawing you see above is the result of a little experimentation with the new features of MS Paint, and of course a little extra time. (Halfway through, I got lazy and decided to type out "the magic paintbrush" instead of actually writing it.) A short explanation: Kit Something is a bright young girl who always gets mistaken for a boy. (Her name's not really Kit Something. I just couldn't think of an appropriate last name for her, so until I do, she will remain Kit Something.) She finds a magic paintbrush one day, and with it, she brings paintings and drawings to life.  ...That sounds like an episode of SpongeBob SquarePants, doesn't it. :| Well screw you. Plagiarism is legal now.

BEING LAME

Potential covers for my novel. Yes, they all suck, but hey. I'm a writer (daw), not a graphic artist. Title is tentative. Tentative title sucks. I hope I don't stop writing when school starts.  If you ask me what my novel's about, I will laugh and say "I don't know, really," because that is the truth - I HAVE NO FREAKING IDEA WHERE MY STORY IS GOING.  *~trolololololololololololo~*

Halloween

Image
Happy Halloween! :D I got a haircut today, and I now resemble Mulan... back when she was pretending to be a man.  Well, whatever. I drew a cartoon just to show you (below), but if you really REALLY wanna be scared, click this link for the actual comparison picture . Okay. Happy Halloween, everyone :)

Hello blogdom! After a one-week hiatus, here I am again, ready to pollute the Internet once more with my pointless musings. If you read my previous post , you will learn that I went to Manila last week to settle a few things at my new college, and to see what there is to see. So what is there to see in the Big M? (P.S., Manila is called the "Big Mango" daw - a Pinoy spin on New York, the "Big Apple") Well, I'll tell you some other post because frankly, I'm just too tired right now. Booo. Hissss. Can you blame me? It's been such a big past week. And I'm not just talking about Manila. See, my sister and I tweaked the lyrics of Tik Tok by Ke$ha to fit into presidentiable Noynoy Aquino's point of view, and it was so lame and crazy that I just had to post it on my Tumblr. When I checked it just now, I was blown away - 1,027 notes! In layman's terms, that's the equivalent of 1,207 reactions (on Tumblr, you can either "like" a post ...
