Maundy Thursday / anniversary number three

Image
I think yesterday marks the first time that my sister and I have ever spent Holy Week away from home. (It also marked my three-year anniversary with Rap, but more on that later.) Sort of spontaneously, Cait and I decided to get these tattoos. Guess which wrists are mine. We drew these on ourselves using a cone of henna ink that I stumbled upon in Little India during our visit to Singapore . I'm so glad we bought it! It was three for ten Singaporean dollah, so that translates to about P106 each cone. Considering that there's still a lot of ink left, I'd say it's a pretty good deal. Here's what it looks like: Like I said, it was my third anniversary with Rap that day. Unfortunately for us, it happened to fall on Maundy Thursday, so most of the restaurants around the city were closed. We ended up spending our anniversary evening at a crowded Jamba Juice down by Serendra. But before that, while we were walking around, Rap presented to me his ...

dizzy days

Image
Lately I've been in a state of dizziness, and I say this in a strictly literal sense. I opened my eyes one morning to find my bedroom spinning wildly. Then I wobbled my way over to school, where my Environmental Sciences test paper wouldn't stand still. The doctor at the AdMU clinic says it's an allergy-related thing. If it were, then that would suck a lot, because I don't know what I'm allergic to. I got a second opinion from the doctor at Loyola Grand Villas (thanks to the Abacan family), and she said it might have something to do with skipping meals, or the heat, or my low blood pressure. She also said it had nothing to do with my allergies. Now I don't know who to believe. But whatever the cause of my vertigo is, I'm still feeling it right now, which makes today the third in a series of dizzy days. Anyway, I'm almost halfway done with summer classes, and May couldn't come sooner. The April heat is killing me, and I'm extremely jealous of...

hong kong and freshmen

Prat Avenue. Our hotel was right across the lingerie bar that didn't make it to this photo. Just got back from Hong Kong. Woohoo! It was the first time I've ever actually been anywhere outside the Philippines, and what an awesome first time it was. I don't wanna go into the details right now, because a lot of what happened was stuff I doubt you'd be interested in (but if you are interested in hearing all these familial inside jokes that were only funny because we were delusional from the lack of sleep and all the walking, do get in touch and I can recommend a good psychiatrist for you). Sooooo no, this won't be a how-to-survive-Hong-Kong-without-a-tour-guide kind of post. It will, in part, be a hey-look-at-these-pretentious-and-hipsterish-pictures-I-took post. (click to enlarge the pretention) I call them pretentious because they're pictures that pretend to actually mean something when all they are are just... badly taken pictures (except for the one wit...

start of the second season

Image
Guess what just happened on my blog yesterday! ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! Sooooo let's all just pretend I posted this a day earlier and say HAPPY FIRST ANNIVERSARY TO MY BLOG! Woohoo! *cue self-congratulating little dance* \:D/ Just a recap of the minimal activity that's been going on here: Last post, I asked you what song you would like playing at your season finale if your life were a TV show. I was looking over all your wonderful comments earlier, and I saw that a lot of your songs were about dying. I didn't exactly mean death when I said "season finale," because season finales are, after all, the closing of just one part of a story and not necessarily the end of the entire story altogether. But anyway, you gave me really awesome answers (except maybe for "Be a Man," which just made me go WTH! good song, but good finale song? ehh). It's really hard to pick a winner, so instead I picked THREE. Hooray for indecision! So, in no order, here are the so...
