April and May
I don't really have anything to write about, but I just feel like I should say something because I don't want my most recent post to be about something that happened more than a month ago.
So what's been happening in my life? Well, for starters...
Leyte happened. I went on a five-day immersion with a bunch of other Health Sci batchmates. I don't really want to talk about what happened there. And I probably never will post online about it. So, yeah. Sorry.
On a lighter note, Rap and I are now two years old. Well, two years and a month, to be exact. We celebrated at A Veneto Pizzeria, an Italian restaurant along Visayas Ave. It's a really fancy name for such a normal-looking store. The food was A+ though. We got some pizza and a sinfully cheesy lasagna, pictured above. Delizioso!
The pictures above were taken on a day where 140 farmers from Casiguran came to Ateneo for a forum or something. The night before, the organizers noticed that a few of the farmers needed medical attention. So they contacted Doc Sio for help. Doc Sio, being the great man that he is, not only agreed to helping out the ones who really needed medical care. He thought of checking up on all 140 farmers. So he called for volunteers among the Health Sci and ASMPH kids, and together we spontaneously organized a system for check-ups. There were a lot of Health Sci kids in attendance to help out with the history-taking, vital signs, and distribution of medicines. But it took pretty long because there were only three attending physicians, including Doc Sio and Doc Henri (my thesis adviser).
Doc Sio had to cancel his Sci 10 class with us because we were all attending to the farmers. But it was fine. I probably learned more from this than I would have if we had had a normal day of classes.
This is a really nice building behind the Manila Observatory. I don't know exactly what it's called, but it houses a gigantic telescope through which you can view the sun. We got to see the inside of it thanks to Miss Liz, our thesis consultant.
This is a really nice part of Ateneo. There's a kamias tree nearby that always seems to have some nice, juicy kamias waiting to be plucked and eaten.
Taken at the Health Sci Summer Chill! Look, Doc Sio is in that second one (where we are doing a sneeze pose). My sneeze is the best.
The Palo Pals! These guys were with me for most of my immersion in Palo. Here we just finished working our immersion paper at Berkely. Berkely is so awesome.
And that's it for now. Yup. Nothing to report.
