graduation stuff

Image
Hello! I have graduated now. As such, I shall be posting about lots of stuff in the coming days, like pictures from Singapore, where my family and I travelled recently for a vacation and graduation gift. All that in due time. I must tackle things sequentially, starting with the events that transpired the day of my graduation. For a while, I'd been fretting about where to eat after graduation, considering that my family will be flying in from CDO. I wanted to go somewhere unique. Sambokojin (in Eastwood) seemed like a good choice because they had a promo where graduates could eat for free. They were hard to book for dinner though, so we decided to go there for a graduation lunch buffet. It was the first large-scale buffet that my family has ever been to (except me and my mom). Dessert is always my favorite part of the meal. (Note: I'm not a marshmallow fan unless it's smothered in chocolate.) The aftermath: We taxi'd back to my condo afte...

relief

Image
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has appointed Ateneo as its satellite area for the repackaging of relief goods ready to be transported to Visayas. The repackaged goods are called DSWD family packs. The agreement was to have 80,000 family packs delivered back to the main branch by Saturday. To be clear: The goods are delivered in large quantities from DSWD to Ateneo. Ateneo is in charge of repacking them in the covered courts. Donations in kind are handled by another party, the Simbahang Lingkod Ng Bayan, but are still accepted in the Ateneo campus (at the Richie Fernando Covered Courts, specifically). Having said that, a lot of volunteers and leaders were puzzled by DSWD's choice of relief goods. As you can see written down on the board below... (picture taken from the Ateneo website ) ... each bag contains rice, noodles, coffee, sardines, and corned beef. Regardless of whether you've been following the news surrounding the affected cities,...

April and May

Image
I don't really have anything to write about, but I just feel like I should say something because I don't want my most recent post to be about something that happened more than a month ago. So what's been happening in my life? Well, for starters... Leyte happened. I went on a five-day immersion with a bunch of other Health Sci batchmates. I don't really want to talk about what happened there. And I probably never will post online about it. So, yeah. Sorry. On a lighter note, Rap and I are now two years old. Well, two years and a month, to be exact. We celebrated at A Veneto Pizzeria, an Italian restaurant along Visayas Ave. It's a really fancy name for such a normal-looking store. The food was A+ though. We got some pizza and a sinfully cheesy lasagna, pictured above.  Delizioso! The pictures above were taken on a day where 140 farmers from Casiguran came to Ateneo for a forum or something. The night before, the organizers noticed that a few of...

interesting things

Image
I know I haven't been posting as often as I did when I was a freshman. I guess it's because I've actually made some friends now, and am less of a self-absorbed loser. (Yeah, right.) . . . Interesting Thing #1 SPONTANEOUS SHOOTING Last Wednesday, I tagged along with Vito, Diane, Rap, and Andy for an impromptu filming of a top-secret project (you'll know what it is soon). We had to wait until 6 at night to shoot, because we wanted some darkness. I brought my camera so that I could practice using it (I still haven't gotten the hang of it after a year). Here are some pictures (unedited because I'm too lazy). Rap with a Blizzard (and an ice cream sandwich for me). He looks so dangerous. Night classes JSEC at night A little part of Katipunan (taken from the back of Vito's pickup). A behind-the-scenes of the actual filming It was a pretty cool experience, even if the shoot ended a little early. I'm still a really bad phot...

old news

Do you know how it feels when you're running a marathon, and you realize that you're almost at the finish line? Do you know what it's like to push yourself to run harder and faster - ignoring the frantic beating of your heart and the tiredness of your lungs - because you know that the end is only a few more breaths away?         I've never run a marathon, so I wouldn't know! But right now, there are less than three weeks before the final exams. Figuratevely speaking, I can feel this run coming to a finish.        Before the semester ends, I should probably post all the pictures of things I'd been meaning to blog about. I know I've hardly been blogging these past few months, and that I usually just post once every four weeks (a stark contrast to my 2010 record of about 20+ posts per month). To make up for that, here's everything you missed. July A mini-museum was put up in the Ateneo de Manila Grade Sch...
