OH YEAH!!! At long last, I've finally gotten an A on something: an essay for Filipino! I now get this nice medal stamped on my paper. Ahh, it fills me with pride.
Hahaha! I'm surprised you still have time to check this blog, what with all the reminiscing you've been doing lately! Haha. Thanks dad! I'm hoping for a nice, big, fat juicy A on tomorrow's Chemistry exam! \m/
A snapshot of me today: Constantly thinking about my 6 baby succulents and worrying their health On Chapter 38 of Pride and Prejudice Invited high school friends to a birthday party on Saturday. I have not had a birthday party with friends in a loooong time. Strong thunderstorm hit at 12 AM, when it turned May 26. Interesting sign. Just watched 2 episodes of Tiny House Nation on FYI and about to halfheartedly watch a third Presents acquired so far, in order of presentation: the Mammoth Creative Design Bundle from Rap, a silver necklace from Mom, and a nice wallet from Yaya Grace 36 birthday messages on my Timeline, and more in my phone and on my mom's Timeline. Feeling really thankful for having so many people think of me on my birthday Very, very happy.
Like I mentioned in my last post, I got married!!! However, because of this stupid capitalist system that prioritizes worker productivity over well-being, we didn't have enough leaves saved up to go on a long enough vacation. So, we did something kinda crazy... And quit both our jobs at the same time. I know, I know, it's such a stupid decision to both quit at the same time. But really, if we hadn't done it, when would we ever have had the time to just go travel and enjoy our lives?! I had already consumed all my vacation leaves by going on my wedding and then our hometown reception, and Rap's work as an infirmary doctor did not allow him to take more than a couple days off at a time. So, we quit. And, using some of the money we got as gifts from our wedding, we were able to spend 12 amazing days in Japan. Here's what we did. Day 0 Flight to Tokyo Check-in at Shibuya Do side quests Dinner with Tita Baby and Tito Mak Our Tokyo trip was off to a bumpy takeoff whe...
This is just a bunch of updates that I feel I need to mention, because too much time has passed since the last one, and it's getting awkward. So, I wrapped up my Doctors to the Barrios stint last January 2023 and started a new job at the Health Promotion Bureau of the Department of Health in April. In between jobs there was a lot of bumming, unemployment anxiety, family events, and dog walking. Those three months went by so quickly. My current work at the DOH is my first ever office job, and first ever entry into the realm of high-level policy. My first thought when I started: everyone sounds SO. DAMN. SMART. and I feel like I know nothing . Intelligence is quite evenly distributed across the Health Promotion Bureau team members - hell, even our admin assistant has a masters degree! When I was in the barrios, I felt like brainpower was more concentrated in some people more than others (if you know, you know). And when I was in the barrios, people would make such a huge...
