pizza, chicken, and a birthday cake

Image
Tonight was the the night of my block's usual sem-ender "party" at Albert's house. Since me, Pat, and Bel (and Albert himself) are this month's birthday celebrants, we brought food. A lot of it. There were six boxes of pizza and a lot of KFC chicken. After we ate, I just sat around, absentmindedly watching a Dr. Who episode with Andy. Then for some reason the lights went out, and Rap came through the door carrying a cake with a single lit candle. It took me a while to process this, and when I was finally able to wrap my mind around what was happening, my heart felt like it was soaring. Rap told me to make a wish and blow the candle. As I did, everyone there sang happy birthday, and I wanted to cry. Cry like I did on  my previous birthday surprise . But to my relief, this time around I managed to keep myself from breaking down into a teary mess as I let out a shaky "Thank you" to Rap and to everyone. This is one reason why I love summer classes - your ...

blogging as procrastination

Goodness. Why do I always get the urge to write at the most inconvenient of times? (Tonight's answer: I just wanna put off reading the Sociology and Anthropology handouts.) Anyway, I just got back from the LFC Doc & Pub Committee General Assembly. There was so much sushi. Too bad my chopstick control is sub-par. u_u Today for Bio we spent an entire hour watching a documentary called Endangered Tales , which is quite fanciful a name for such a mildly interesting film. When I say "mildly interesting" I mean that the only parts I paid attention to were the parts with actual animals and colorful plants. I think two-year-olds have longer attention spans than I do. Oooh look, a dorm cat! Also today we had Organic Chemistry Lab wherein we had to do all sorts of labby things. The main point of it was to separate and extract benzoic acid from naphthalene. While doing the labby things I was thinking about our ex-Chemistry teacher, Sir Unsay , and about all the other certifi...

1:47 AM. My body clock has conked out and probably my grammar and coherence are gone as well. Maybe this is why majority of my blog posts are strange and nonsensical - because they were written at one in the morning. Does this make me a morning person now? Lolsies! (Kidding. I never say losies. Ever. I swear. Please believe me. Please. Please?) All lameness aside, so much has happened since I last updated. I'll get to the important bits in a while. What have I been up to this summer? I think my brother's Facebook status sums it all up: (sad kind) yay Yeah. I suck. As a sibling, I mean, not as a tetris player, because I'm doing all right at least in that one bit of my life (or lack thereof). I'm sorry, Jigs and Cait. I really should get off the Internet. It's a good thing that aside from playing Tetris Battle on Facebook all day (<--- don't worry, this post doesn't get any sadder than this), I've been working on finishing this bucketlist of films th...

I guess you can tell by the frequency of my posts that I have quite a lot of spare time on my hands now. And I just found out that I got exempted from my Psych finals! Woohoo! Now I have even more time to kill before my flight home next Thursday. I wish I didn't have to wait. I wish I could go home tomorrow. After all, I don't need to stick around for finals week anymore. I really miss home. And if you could see me right now you'd understand why. It's a Saturday night and the sequel to my summer vacation has just officially begun. I'm finished with Filipino (FOREVER) and I got good grades for my two summer subjects. And look how I'm celebrating: I'm all hunched up in front of my laptop in a corner of a dark dorm room, wishing I could go out somewhere, but it's raining and I don't have an umbrella and I don't really know where I can go at this ungodly hour (7:21 PM). Ugh. I'm sorry I'm being so whiny. Today wasn't as happy as most ...

the last few days of summer (class)

Hi! It's been a while. I've been pretty busy. You see... Last Saturday I attended a meeting led by the Council of Organizations of the Ateneo (literally the "org of orgs") re: RecWeek details. (RecWeek is short for Recruitment Week (I think). It's the period of time in which you get to sign up for the different orgs. [ Here's last year's RecWeek !]). It was the first time (in college) I'd ever actually attended a meeting for an event of such magnitude, and I felt so official sitting there amongst presidents and chairpeople, even though I was only asked to go because nobody else from LFC (Loyola Film Circle) could make it, and I live so conveniently close by. Anyway, RecWeek this year is gonna be awesome! Everybody join LFC!!! It's a really awesome org with really awesome activities regarding film and love and friendship! Also   Rob Cham  was in it! Do sign up and experience the magic~ that is this org.  After the meeting I tried cramming a bit ...
