Last night I went to the launching of Manila Noir , an anthology of stories told against the backdrop of (yup you guessed it) a dark and sinister Metro Manila. The book is the result of a collaboration between various Filipino writers, the most easily recognized one probably being the likes of Lourd de Veyra. And it was edited by  the  Jessica Hagedorn. Jessica Hagedorn isn't one of my favorite authors of all time, but when I received word that she would be coming to Ateneo, I just had to be there to have my three-year-old copy of Gangster of Love signed. I had read the book to fulfill a requirement for Lit class under Max Pulan, and I loved it. It was all sorts of twisted and funny, and after reading it I was certain of one thing: Jessica Hagedorn is one weird chick. Anyway, at the end of the talk I was lucky enough to go home with a freshly-autographed old copy of  Gangster as well as a pre-autographed and newly bought Manila Noir. National Bookstore was selling c...

Greenhills finds, and 1-day-old-chicken

Had yet another wonderful day today, praise God. I went to Greenhills with Rap and his family, and I went home with these: (click to enlarge) An advanced birthday card from Karina, Rap's sister. She got me one on my last birthday, too! AWW! <3 Two Sandman s from Rap, a loose floral shirt, a Hunger Games tumbler I stumbled upon by accident (and less than P300, too!) and a pack of Karate Belts rainbow bacon strips for my family. The shirt above looks like this. And wow I've been taking pictures of clothes a lot, recently. A weird thing about me is that I like to go to malls a lot, but I never really buy any clothes for myself. I just enjoy looking at all the pretty things there are to look at. But this afternoon, I felt a little pressured to find something nice for myself, otherwise the trip to Greenhills would've been put to waste. So I got this shirt. And it looks nice, I think. Rap and I also ate at the V-Mall food court. There was a stall there that s...

my last night in the dorm

Sometimes I can get really excited over the littlest things, such as petting a puppy, deciding to have yogurt for dessert, or going for a walk outside. BUT this is not one of those times, for I am excited not for any of those silly reasons. I am excited for this one BIG reason: TOMORROW IS MAY 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And that's not even the real reason!!! It's just an umbrella reason!!! But I emphasized it anyway!!!  *breathes*  Anyway, tomorrow is May 1, and that means: No classes (which isn't a big deal to me, since my class schedule is so light, it's like I do practically nothing all day) SUMMER CLASSES ARE HALFWAY OVER!  My birthday is nigh! (Must do eighteen-year-old things while I still can!) GAME OF THRONES!!! (Just kidding, I don't watch u_u) I'M HAVING YOGURT FOR DESSERT! (Just kidding I'm not  :'(  ) Annnnnnd, reason of all reasons:     6. I'M MOVING INTO THE CONDO!  I'v...
