Rejoice, blogdom, for our friend Jason has rejoined us tonight! (Click this to go to his blog!)

He wrote this really long(-winded) blog entry about how his year went, and I most especially liked the paragraph in which he says lovely things about me. Hahahaha! Pasted below is the portion of his post in which he describes me and our other wonderful friends. You need not read it (you probably don't know any of these guys aside from me). I just thought it was so nice, it was worth reposting. (original post here)


*Aimee- AIMEE. My bestfriend since high school. Serious and Kind. Good Writer, adviser, friend, ETC! Aimee is anyone’s friend.  And for lack of a better word, Aimee is really nice. (True Story). Oh and she’s a rockin’ guitarist, a fellow blogger, and simply AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME. (and yes aim, I consider you a HOE) [Hoe being used as a term of endearment - Aimee]
*Gerard- He’s the loud one in the group. Seriously HYPER and fun-loving. He’s unpredictable when he’s hyper and he usually becomes one when he’s sleep deprived. Gerard’s one of the best people you can be friends with. Amazing singer, beat boxer and guitarist.  AND MUCH MUCH MORE. (i will not disclose other stuff)
*Daryll- He’s a special case. Usually quiet but at times, he makes green but awesome comments on our conversations. I will not disclose anymore. (I know a lot about him coz he’s my roommate) But just so you know, he’s an awesome friend and roommate, master guitarist, and a “good” guy.=) AND MUCH MUCH MORE. (i will not disclose other stuff)
*Larz- Larz, Larz, Larz. He’s also unusual.^___^  His English is kinda slang so when he speaks, there really is a nice ring to it. He also cracks up jokes that bring fun to the group. He easily falls in love. (Hi larz.) And he constantly engages on raids in World of Warcraft. But all in all, and amazing friend nonetheless.AND MUCH MUCH MORE. (i will not disclose other stuff)

I think I am now obliged to say something nice about you, Jason, in return for those kind words. Here goes:

  • Jason - I tell him everything that matters. He's my best friend and my brother. He's honest, open, and he keeps me grounded. We enjoy talking about Manila and about how weird the city (and the people) can be. We also reminisce a lot. He is my primary source of gossip about our high school classmates from Cagayan. He knows everything, and I don't know what I'd do if he hadn't come to Ateneo with me. 

I just find it such a wonderful coincidence that we're all here at this time. I've known these guys even before I came to Ateneo, and isn't it just so grand that we've all come together?

In our group, I met Gerard first, at a contest thingy in elementary. He was so funny and nice, but he didn't know my name :| And then I became friends with Jason when he transferred to Kong Hua in our first year of high school. I met Larz only last year, through a mutual friend (hi, Kabu!) at his school's Foundation Day.

It's just so... amazing, isn't it?

I found out yesterday from Alessi that our last exam is on the 23rd! (Yeah, I haven't gotten around to checking the March calendar yet.) My flight's on the 26th (with Gerard! ), so that gives me three extra days of ~COMPLETE IDLENESS~ woohoo. So anyway. I'm really excited to go home. A lot of my close friends are boys. Boys who like comic books. I hang around them a lot, and usually we talk about random things like physics and foreigners and lobsters having no pain receptors. We went to watch The Amazing Spiderman on a whim just recently. It was fun. Sometimes it's not so fun. I used to get a lot of sandwich jokes until those stopped being funny. Now I get "d'oh you're a girl so of course you hate comic books" jokes. I don't hate comic books. I love Neil Gaiman's Sandman . And Walking Dead, too. And Scott Pilgrim!!! But I don't read superhero comics. It's hard to be interested in them when most, if not all, of the superhero women 1.) have gigantic breasts, 2.) wear sexy clothing, and 3.) are always in stereotypically feminine poses. What if the male characters posed like the female ones? (c) Kevin Bolk And look at that. Why can't the men wear clothes as revealing as the women, or women wear clothes as concealing...

Box O' Rice

To be honest, I don't even remember if it's called Box OF Rice, or Box O' Rice. I hope it's Box O' Rice. It just sounds cooler that way. But anyway. I went there last Friday for dinner, and it was my first time there. It's a cozy little place right next to my dorm, and they serve exactly what their name implies: boxes of rice. Boxes of rice with toppings, of course. Emphasis on the word "boxes." Which means there are no plates involved. Which means you can bring the boxes in and out of the store as you please. I should've noted this earlier, because I embarrassed myself at the counter, telling the cashier TWICE that I wanted my box of rice "to go." Durrr. Boxed na. To go pa. Anyway, the food itself is good, for P60-P70 priced meals. My only complaint is that their meat-to-rice ratio needs a bit more tweaking. There's just so much rice, and so little of anything else!
