Baguio Day 1

Image
Yes I'm back on the blogosphere! Yay!     Last week I took my dad's suggestion to go on a solo trip. I instantly knew where I wanted to go: Baguio. I thought it the perfect destination for me because I'd already been acquainted with the place from two previous trips. And I was also craving that crisp, piney Baguio air.       In the days leading up to the trip, I stressed myself out so much with planning the itinerary, to the point of checking the hourly weather reports in Baguio and planning my activities around that. I became so anxious about the itinerary that I lost sight of the main point of the trip, which was to practice being on my own. I had to keep reminding myself that the goal wasn't to visit all the tourist attractions, but to learn more about myself, which meant really listening to myself and going wherever I wanted and doing whatever I felt like.      So I scrapped the itinerary I had spent days researching ...

chillness

It's 8:49 AM according to the laptop's clock, and I'm whiling away the time on the Internet until it's 9:30, when I'll leave the dorm to pick up a box of donuts at Cello's, and then take a taxi to the airport, and then take a plane back home. <3 I'm glad I'm spending the weekend home, even if it is just for two days. Like last Thursday, when we had a free cut for Chem! Oh man, that was the best I had felt all week. We were all jumping and shouting and poking each other's ribs when we found out our teacher wasn't coming. (We went to McDonald's afterwards to celebrate with burgers and ice cream!) And yesterday was no sweat! We ...

Monday night

Here I am, in my dorm. On my bed. With my laptop. Writing a blog when I should be doing Problem Set 2 for Chemistry... But I can't. Just can't. You see, my heart is breaking again. I just miss home so much. My flight from Cagayan de Oro to here in Manila was this morning, at 6:15. Opening the gates of my house, I saw through the leaves of the mango tree in our yard the 5 o'clock sky: dark blue, gloomy, but with traces of sunlight peeking out from behind Sa-ku's house. It was almost the exact same sky I was looking at when I left home in the first place on June 6. Oh, I remember the car ride to the airport on that day. On June 6, I mean. My world was falling apart in the back seat of  the family Vios. Mom and dad were up front, and I was just quietly drinking in all the Cagayan buildings and scenery, as I knew that I would not be seeing them in a long while. I felt like I was going to a place of no return, full of despair and darkness. I felt like I was going...
