post V-day blogging II

Image
Econ test tomorrow, doing nothing today. Ehh screw it. My teacher's not gonna give me a good score anyway. So here I am, blogging~ Here's a little recap of the week: Tuesday I thought I had prepared really well for the Statistics exam. But... no. u_u Also, Rap got me a nice edible flower for Valentine's. n_n It's still here, just slightly nibbled on because I wish to preserve it. Andy got all the girls in Bio class (even our teacher, Ma'am Canlas) a nice, long-stemmed rose. Aww. I used to think that Valentine's Day was stupid, and that if you really loved somebody, you would show it to them every day of the year as opposed to every Feb 14. But on this day, all around the campus you could see all sorts of grand gestures of love - public serenades (there was even one that I actually participated in ahihihihi. You're welcome, Karl.), giant bouquets, boys dressed in suits and girls wearing pretty dresses. While seeing them doesn't actually make me f...

NSTP

Image
You won't believe what happened to me yesterday. Halfway to Bagong Silang, for NSTP, our jeep started making a weird, sputtery noise - the kind that healthy jeeps are not supposed to make. We pulled over somewhere next to an open field, and our driver went down to investigate what the problem was. He popped open the hood of the jeep and, to our surprise (and delight, and horror), he pulled out a little cat, mewling and appearing relatively unharmed by its short trip under the hood. Instead of releasing the kitty into the field we had stopped at, we let it stay with us the rest of the trip. Hours later, after our insertion, we found the kitty sleeping peacefully underneath the seats. We left it in its state of cat-slumber. About twenty minutes into the trip, however, we decided we were too hungry. So we pulled the jeep over, popped open the hood, and using the hot machinery, made ourselves a nice kitty meal. Just kidding. That never happened. I just needed an interesting first par...

bullet point Saturdays

NSTP re-orientation at eight in the morning with the entire Health Sci batch! :) And Lafi! n_n Went around the photocopying places in Ateneo to get readings for stuff. GRAHHH photocopying is so frustrating, and I'm not even the one doing the actual copying.  Lunch with Jeth, Jules, and Cheryl in the caf. Jules actually opened up a little of himself to us today.  Checked out a unit in Berkeley. It had a really amazing view! But it was pretty darn tiny. And hot.  That's Katipunan on the left. You can see part of Ateneo. (Click to enlarge!) Bought a Cell Biology book for Bio class. P2,100 at Mind Movers. Colored glossy paper. Mmmmmm. I also heard this book will come in handy during NMAT season. Went back to Ateneo to do more errands. Mostly photocopy-related stuff again. Grr.  Went to Moonleaf and sat across the Freedom Board that was full of lame, "Faye wuz here 11-11-11 =))" kinds of notes. Why do people use Internet smileys on paper, anyway? I drew...

being busy

So I told myself that I'd keep writing in this despite all the work I have for school, BUT IT WAS AN EMPTY PROMISE. Sorry. Allow me to explain. I've been doing editing work for the Health Sciences Society, as well as for a new YouTube channel that will (hopefully) be updated weekly. (Click to go to  our latest episode .) (EDIT. THAT'S A WRONG LINK! CLICK HERE FOR REAL! ) HEALTH SCI MAJORS! Preorder your tickets! :) (cheaper by 20 bucks :>):  http://tinyurl.com/hsschil ls NOW for some past events that I'm too lazy to properly narrate! Block XX @ University Dorm roofdeck while waiting for Mariel to open her dorm window so that she may look out of it and see us waiting outside her dorm for her super special birthday SURPRISE! (c) Andy Europa After seeing us, Mariel took a picture of us with her camera and then rushed down to meet us. (She just had to do it the Mariel way.) (c) Andy Mariel's beautiful, chocolate-smothered cake. Yes, those are slic...

religion, and possibly oversleeping

Image
Why am I not asleep yet? It's 12:30 AM on THE first Saturday of the school year I'm going home. And NSTP (I think that stands for National Service Training Program) will kill me when I have to wake up later at 6.  What is up with NSTP anyway? The whole system is crazy. We're allowed only 9 hours of cuts, and already I've got 4 hours worth of cuts because I was late twenty minutes for the first meeting! >:( It's crazy. You can't be late, or forget your ID or your NSTP uniform or else BOOM you've got a 15,205-hour cut, and the next thing you know, you've FAILED NSTP, and you're spending your fifth year in Ateneo taking ONLY NSTP while your batchmates are off doing proper things with their proper lives.  I'm sorry, NSTP is not stupid. I really love the concept behind NSTP. It sounds revolutionary. But all these rules that they impose on us - it's FREAKING SCARY! I feel like if I wake up late, or leave my name tag or do even just the tinies...

half-baked posts

Here's a story for you. It's a rather self-centered one at that, but maybe you could derive some amusement out of it, because in this story (as in many others), I am a freak, and people do love their freaks. So it's a story about my eyes. The thing about my eyes is that they are the color of the ocean after a storm. KIDDING! Like most other Filipinas and Filipinos, my eyes are the color of the grime that sticks to the bottom of your shoe when it's rainy out. The real  thing about my eyes is that they don't match up. Not just in shape too, but in the way they move. Gross, right? I unwittingly freak people out sometimes when my pupils aren't focused on the same point. I wasn't actually aware that they didn't always move the same way until a couple of months ago, when my good chum Rap pointed it out to me as I tried crossing my eyes. Tonight I wanted to see just how disgusting I looked when I try crossing my eyes, and lo and behold, it is pretty darn ...

first few days of school

Image
Man oh man it's been six days since my last update, which wasn't even a real update. Anyway check out these pictures that I totally neglected to upload! Look at that. Look at all those awesome pins I collected from the events I went to! They're from the Health Sci Society, Loyola Film Circle, Gabay, and the SOSE Sanggu. Sad thing is, apparently I forgot to take them down from the inside of my old closet in Room 202 when I moved into Room 2-I. Now that closet is gone, and so are my precious pins. *sigh of acceptance of loss* Okay, now look at this! It's a guitar pick which I so happily and passionately cut out from my old PMSA membership card (thanks for kicking me out of the org, yo). I drew Jules on it and gave it to him for his 18th birthday!  Speaking of birthdays! Meet the choir (sans Vera) that sang during Pat's surprise 18th birthday lunch. Awesome photo by the awesome Andy Europa.  Also speaking of birthdays! Look at this other awesome photo by Andy -...
