the day before summer classes start

Look how vain I've become. You can now Like my blog on Facebook, but it's not a fan page or anything. Ooh, technology. Anyway, I had an awesome weekend. Saturday marked my parents' sweetheart anniversary, so we went out to celebrate by eating at Butcher's Best! If the name of the place doesn't sound all that romantic, that's because it isn't. It's always full of people, and there isn't a lot of space, and the walls are covered in a mural depicting Chinese people grilling meat. But if you ever happen to be in Cagayan de Oro, that's the first place you must eat at. I dare you to find better sisig! After dinner we went to SM to watch Rio. The last time I saw a movie in a cinema was during SOSE Movie Night, and that was the latest Harry Potter! I love Rio by the way, you should go buy your self a ticket and see it right now! It's funny! It's charming! It's farming ! (Forget I said that.) The colors are amazing, and the music is jus...

the bonfire

I'm pretty sure that all the other universities have gotten tired of us congratulating ourselves about the 3-peat, what with all the "Sorry, FEU" fanpages and online hype about the bonfire. But we can't help it. We're a proud bunch.  Make that a proud, and extremely happy bunch, because last night, we got a huge bonfire, and today, we have NO CLASSZ POHWZ!!!  At around 6 PM I ate dinner at Teriyaki Boy with my blockmates. It wasn't my first time, but I was still pretty ignorant about a lot of things - like WTH does sashimi mean. Alyssa was pretty unfamiliar with the menu too, so we ended up having what Tin was having: something guyusomething ramen. Twas good! :D Afterwards, I attached myself to Jason (remember, my high school classmate from Kong Hua?) and we went to Pizza Hut with his girl friends from the dorm, plus Larz (also my high school friend from Cagayan). I'd already eaten dinner, so I ordered their chocolate cake + ice cream. Omnomnom. Do I ...

the shallowest post ever

My family and I didn't have anything better to do last night after dinner than drive around the city. There was no power at home, and no power meant no aircon, and no aircon meant no us. :) So we hit the Night Cafe' for a while (and I even got this cool new pair of purple Chucks! Oh yeah. Manila here I come!) and after that, we were left with nothing to do. Driving home, we passed by this political rally in front of the Provincial Capitol. It was mayoral candidate Klarex Uy's. Out of boredom, we decided to check it out. And here comes the good part! Gibo was there! Gilbert Teodoro! I was NOT expecting that. He was up on stage, introducing his party members to everyone, and people were cheering him on as Klarex Uy's jingle blared from the speakers. (yeah, this picture sucks, I know, but that's the best my phone's camera could muster.) And here comes the better part! As Gibo and his partymates take a bow, one of his campaign managers goes to the front of ...
