Okay, one last post, and then I'll stop using up a perfectly good Saturday afternoon browsing the Internet to go hunch over a notebook and a calculator and solve logarithmic functions instead. Something's just been really bugging me lately. See, what this business does is they take random pendants (erasers, highlighters, toys) and then attach them to chains and then pass them off as accessories, displaying them online for the typical Manila college student to gawk at and exclaim at and then scramble over to buy. What I don't get is how these necklaces, which are basically just plastic army toys dangling from a chain, are able to sell for P140 a piece. P140! That's exactly four (delicious) rice meals from Happy Homes. . . .       In Cagayan, I had always wanted to go to Manila during vacations. It was, for me, this beautiful place with an amazing cityscape, huge malls and insane theme parks, all that glitz and glamour. It was the City of Lights, and everything to me seemed so magical and wonderful (all this having been established as "fact" the first time I came to Manila; I was about three years old then).     But Manila is definitely NOT all that glamour and glitz. Living in Katipunan (and now, seventeen years old) has made me realize that things aren't as flashy as my three-year-old self had imagined them to be. Katipunan may come across as a fancy shmancy destination to go eat, unwind, and have fun (*ahem* Cantina *ahem*), but it can also be very UN-glamorous: the unbearable heat, the insufferable filth, the risk of getting stolen from, or the dangers, as my Kagay-anon relatives and friends are always warning me about, of indiscreetly being slipped a roofe...

Last Thursday night (and early Friday morning), I wasn't able to get any sleep at all, so I was actually able to go with Dad at 5 in the morning to the airport to drop off Mommy, who was going to Cebu for a business seminar of some sort. This is what part of my house looked like in the early morning light. 8D After that, my dad scolded me for not sleeping, but can I really be held responsible for the strange things my body does? I mean it's not MY fault I have delayed sleep phase syndrome. Anyway, he sent me to bed right after we dropped Mom off. And thankfully, I was actually able to sleep until 12 in the afternoon. I woke up just in time for lunch and a quick shower. Then it was off to Limketkai Mall for some bonding time with the Rotary Youth City Council! (photo courtesy of Nadine 8D ) After that, I took a taxi home to grab a quick dinner, and then it was back to Limketkai with Dad, Caitlin and Lola to catch the Apo Hiking's Farewell Concert! They were AMAZING!...

Missy Bon Bon , a popular cafe/restaurant in Cagayan de Oro City, recently opened its main branch in Limketkai Mall, Rosario Drive. With a small but oh-too-cute booth in Robinsons Mall, the store had already captured the hearts (and stomachs) of me and my sister. So when Missy Bon Bon announced that they were awarding prizes to the first hundred people to visit when they opened on April 16 at 7 AM, we just knew that we had to be there! We woke up at 5:30 and got there by 6. Already the line was really long! I was #86 in line, and my sister was supposed to be #87, but she got pretty sick because she wasn't used to waking up so early (I know - what a wuss!) so my dad had to come back and pick her up. And, I SURVIVED! For two hours. I tell you, it got extremely hot at one point, I thought I'd pass out.
