I know I promised a Batangas post (as if you really keep track of the things I promise), but in the past two days there have been about four people chatting me up on Facebook to ask about the NMAT. So perhaps this post would be of greater interest to the general public (as if I really care about the interests of the general public). I took the December 2012 NMAT (the earliest option for me) because my parents told me I should. They made me take it that early because they said it was to prepare me for the April 2013 NMAT, which I thankfully don't need to take anymore because I got a score of 99+. But in the past few months of my junior year alone, so many Health Sci majors have shifted gears and decided otherwise. What's surprising is not that people are actually rethinking their choice to go to med school, but that so many of them are doing it in about the same period of time, as if it were a contagious disease.       My apologies for the horrible metaphor. I'm not saying that questioning yourself is a bad thing. In fact, it's a terrific thing. The huge, scary decision of what to do with your life after you graduate is a choice that you will inevitably be forced to make. There's just no getting around it, unless perhaps you plan to flunk your subjects and stay in school forever (a decision I actually mulled over for a while, because I really do love being in college). Please don't smite me and take my food :c Last Saturday Instead of NSTP, I  went with my friends Jules and AC to an event called Celebrate Life Program, organized through a partnership between Kythe Ateneo and Musikero  (<-- click that!). We went to the children's cancer ward in a public hospital somewhere in Quezon City and we put on a musical skit for the kids. I had a pretty tiny role in the story; all I had to do was play the guitar when it was time for the main characters to sing. But I loved my part thoroughly.
