Mask from hell

Image
Today I interrupt my Baguio series to dabble in skincare reviewing! Yes yes I know most of you guys are about ready to stop reading at this point BUT YOU MUST CONTINUE READING FOR I HAVE SOMETHING VERY IMPORTANT TO SAY. And that Very Important Thing is this: Watsons' Blackhead Removing Mask sucks.    Big time . Okay so it wasn't that important but hey at least I got your attention. I am, by no means, a skincare expert. However, I am an average human being, and I can attest that by normal human being standards, everyone should just stay clear of this 139-peso waste of money. Unless given as a gift for someone you low-key despise, say for example, a certain tita who never fails to comment on your weight every single time you visit during the holidays. Moving on! I must point out that I didn't plan on doing a review on this, I just really wanted to try it out for fun but then ended up hating the product so much. Essentially I tried the mask on first and then d...

Baguio Day 1

Image
Yes I'm back on the blogosphere! Yay!     Last week I took my dad's suggestion to go on a solo trip. I instantly knew where I wanted to go: Baguio. I thought it the perfect destination for me because I'd already been acquainted with the place from two previous trips. And I was also craving that crisp, piney Baguio air.       In the days leading up to the trip, I stressed myself out so much with planning the itinerary, to the point of checking the hourly weather reports in Baguio and planning my activities around that. I became so anxious about the itinerary that I lost sight of the main point of the trip, which was to practice being on my own. I had to keep reminding myself that the goal wasn't to visit all the tourist attractions, but to learn more about myself, which meant really listening to myself and going wherever I wanted and doing whatever I felt like.      So I scrapped the itinerary I had spent days researching ...

adulting with Anna and Janine

Image
10:30 pm. Just got back from a night out with my friends Anna and Janine, whom I only get to see during my vacations when I'm back home in CdO. Yes, I'm home at 10:30 PM. None of our get-togethers have ever ended this late. I know, it's very grade school. But this is how my high school barkada has always been: super innocent and holy. Not being sarcastic, I really mean it. With Manila friends, it's considered quite normal to have a beer or two and come home at 12. But when I'm with Janine and Anna, we just have Coke and come home early. We've never had any alcohol (as a group) and we never stay out past 9 (tonight was the exception). It's pretty incredible how even though we're all adults, we still behave like a bunch of grade schoolers. And to be honest, that's what I like about hanging out with them. Tonight, we met up at GC Suites and grabbed some 678 Chicken, had Korean ice cream at the movie place upstairs, and then walked a ...

HNY 2017

Happy New Year y'all!      It's been quiet here for the longest time, mainly because I've sort of been more active on Instagram. It's honestly just a lot easier to micro-blog than to, you know, blog blog.      But anyway, thanks to a gentle push by Rap, here I am on Blogger.      How has your break been? Mom's been cleaning out her massive store of clothes at last, so I've mostly been sifting through piles of clothes from the 90's. Thankfully ribbed clothes and crop tops are in again, so a lot of my mom's old clothes are now old enough to be "vintage" cool. I think.      I'm on the fence about this particular top though. (Ignore the ghost shorts please.)      I asked my sister if I could pull it off, and she said "Yes, if you don't care about how you look." :I      Dad said, "It sends a message." I asked him, what message? He said, "It says, 'I'm retro.'" :I ...

Endo diaries

Image
Things have been quite good lately... barring all of Duterte's recent slapstick antics, the supertyphoon in the North, the police ramming through protesters. I mean in the realm of my little bubble that is Med School, things haven't been all that bad.      The Endocrine module started this Monday, and I was / am pretty happy to be out of the Renal module. Because Renal is, and has always been, my hatest  module. I agree, "hatest" is not a real word, but no other word can better encapsulate my superlative dislike for the module. Renal is my pinaka hatest.       So yes, I'm glad we're in Endocrine now, because I do enjoy Endo quite a lot. Endo is all about hormones and how they balance each other out. The reason I like it so much is that I studied this extensively during my college Physiology class, so it was one of the easier modules for me to digest. My biggest challenge with this module now is memorizing all those da...
